The Sholom Family
Three entities comprise the Sholom Family.
The operating entity that provides a broad continuum of residential, social service, and health care programs, primarily for older adults in the Upper Midwest, and within a Jewish environment. The Alliance is committed to working with individuals and their families to find the most comfortable and enjoyable living arrangements best suited to the elderly loved one's needs.
Sholom Foundation's sole mission is planned giving and fundraising to help ensure the financial viability of the Sholom Community Alliance for generations to come.
Sholom Auxiliary's sole mission is to assist both Sholom Nursing Homes through volunteer and annual fundraising to bring added services and comfort to the nursing home residents.

Circle of Life
The Sholom Foundation's quarterly newsletter is filled with news of what's happening at the Sholom Foundation, stories of friends and supporters of Sholom, valuable information on ways to plan a gift that will benefit both Sholom Foundation and yourself, and all of the donations made to Sholom Foundation since the previous issue. Each issue also provides a list of all Sholom Foundation endowments funds as well as members of the Sholom Foundation Heritage Society.

Donating to Sholom Foundation
Gifts in honor of someone's special occasion or to remember a loved one can be made to either the Sholom Foundation General Fund or to a specific fund. Your gift will be acknowledged along with a personal message to whomever you wish notified. All donations will appear in the Circle of Life and will be acknowledged on a regular basis to the donor in a letter suitable for tax purposes. To view a list of Sholom Foundation Funds, click here.

How can I donate right now?

I'd like to help, but will my small donation really make a difference?
The Sholom Foundation welcomes all gifts, regardless of size. Every gift brings us that much closer to our long-term goal of a $100 million endowment that will support the Sholom Community Alliance facilities and programs long into the future.
What is an Endowment Fund?
An endowment fund is a gift that lasts in perpetuity while the income is used for a specific purpose or, if undesignated, allocated for use by the Sholom Foundation Board of Directors.
Why do some of the Sholom Foundation funds list a specific purpose?
Donors may request their contribution be used for a special use. Funds that provide musical entertainment for residents at the Sholom nursing homes, for religious activities, for building maintenance, or staff training and employee appreciation are examples of some of the designated funds. How do I contribute to an existing fund in someone's honor?
Gifts in honor of someone's special occasion or to remember a loved one can be made to either the Sholom Foundation General Fund or to a specific fund. A donation card, along with your personal message, will be mailed to the recipient. All donors will be acknowledged in the Circle of Life. Gifts will be acknowledged to the donor in a letter suitable for tax purposes on a regular basis.
